About Me
I have worked with children, young people, and families since 2001, beginning with summer camps across Europe before moving into roles as a playworker and later working in partnership with schools and local authorities to develop Extended Schools and Extended Services pilot programmes.
Throughout my career, I have held a range of leadership and specialist positions, including serving as CEO of a Bristol-based children’s charity and working for both Barnardo’s and the Youth Adventure Trust. In 2011, I established my freelance business, initially delivering play and behaviour training for childcare professionals across Wiltshire. Since then, I have expanded my work to include adult and community learning services for local authorities, developing and delivering online learning opportunities throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2013/14, I trained as a primary school teacher and subsequently taught across both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 for three years. Today, I continue to provide training, activity programmes, parenting support, and play-based opportunities for children, families, and communities.
Alongside Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), I hold a Level 5 ILM Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring, a Level 5 Diploma in Project Management, and a Level 1 Accreditation in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP). I keep my First Aid and Safeguarding training up to date and hold an Enhanced DBS certificate registered with the DBS Update Service.
I am well practised in applying Five to Thrive, PACE, and trauma-informed approaches. My work includes supporting families where children face emotional barriers to school attendance, as well as those where neurodivergence is a significant factor.
